Sausage Gravy

  • 1 TBSP unsalted butter
  • 1 lb ground sausage, mild Italian
  • 1 small white onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, smashed and chopped
  • 2 TBSP all purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup light cream
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • tsp paprika
  • 2 dashes hot sauce,
  • salt & pepper, for seasoning


  • In a large fry, melt the butter on medium heat. Once melted add the ground sausage and cook until brown.
  • Once the sausage is browned, add the onion and saute together with the sausage. Once the onions are aromatic, add the garlic and combine together.
  • Add the flour and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Once the flour is cooked add the milk and cream and continue to whisk together. Add the Worcestershire, seasoned salt, paprika and hot sauce to the cream sauce.
  • Once thickened, taste and season with salt & ground pepper if needed.
  • Serve warm on a biscuit or fresh bread with or without an egg 🥚, enjoy and cheers ☕!
