Supporting Local Restaurants in the Midst of Pandemic

Last week Visit Downtown Dover featured some of my favorite “Eats & Treats” during stay-at home, check those out here, and today I wanted to add a few more since David and I just did 5 days straight of contactless curbside or outdoor dining for my birthday celebration 🎂.

Lexie’s Dover

Peace. Love. Burgers…enough said 😉. I’ve been craving a great burger and Lexie’s ALWAYS delivers! We got their Fried Pickles for the first time and those were delicious and kept their crisp during travel.

Left: Instant Classic, Bistro Fries and Fried Pickles; Right: Burning Down The House & Fries

Lexie’s Dover is offering delicious contactless curbside with a text when the order is almost ready, talk about a seamless experience!

Wing-Itz Dover

We wanted to get to Wing-Itz because we’re fans of their buffalo tenders and for a limited time, they are offering Tokens Sauce with 100% of the order going to Tokens Taproom. I love that they are supporting Tokens because it’s a Dover gem for sure and they need to come back 😟. Two, the sauce is a tasty combination of their mild buffalo and BBQ 😋!

We also did Chili Garlic, which delivers a punch 😋

Since I was after some greens, we also did their Banh Mi Salad, which is grilled chicken or shaved steak marinated in Sweet Thai Chili with shredded carrots, cilantro, romaine and Spicy Peanut dressing. We did the shaved steak and boy does this salad hit the spot with the fresh herbs, pickled cabbage and peanut dressing.

So tasty 😋

Wing-Itz Dover is offering delivery or takeout and don’t delay taking advantage of their Tokens Taproom benefit!

Castaways Boathouse

Castaways is the outdoor hidden gem of Dover, in my opinion.

The view is absolutely stunning and nothing is better than sunshine with a view and cold beer.

Castaways is taking reservations and masks are required while in the building. It felt safe with the tables well separated and they’ve actually added more outside dining in their parking lot, which is great.

Since we were visiting during happy hour, we grabbed some munchies.

Notice the hand sanitizer in the background, we travel with this at all times!

Kendall Pond Pizza

Kendall Pond makes a delicious sandwich and during this time they’re offering pick-up, contactless curbside or delivery.

I love a great Italian Sub and they’ve got all the fixings to make it delicious 😋!

Chapel+Main

We finished the birthday 🥳 celebration at Chapel+Main for some patio dining. This Brewpub has the type of menu where you can’t make a decision because EVERYTHING sounds AMAZING! In the end, we started with some Lemon Shandys with their own lemonade and Pimento Cheese & Crackers.

You know I’m a fan of Pimento Cheese and their version hit the spot with the Lemon Shandy. For dinner David went with the Cauliflower Korma (which he loved) and I had a Reuben on Rye.

Reubens are one of my all-time favorites and Chapel+Main’s is pretty delicious with the tender corned beef and grilled bread 😋! Our visit was great and masks were worn by all, making it a fabolous way to end my birthday 🥳 celebration!

Chapel+Main is offering patio dining by call ahead or reservations at 603-842-5170. Contactless curbside is also available Wednesday-Sunday from 4-8pm, as well as any additional hours that the patio/kitchen remains open.

Our local restaurants need our support right now, #supportlocal, and they’re practicing appropriate CDC guidelines and safety measures to keep guests and staff safe, so get on out their and support your favorites.
